Can I withdraw a runner and how does it work?
You can withdraw someone from your team quickly and easily via the Console, here's what you need to know.
Sometimes you need to withdraw someone from your team due to unforeseen circumstances. You can take action via the Console although there are some key things to be aware of based on what status (or stage) your runner is at and the timeframe in which you wish to withdraw them.
If your runner has not started registration
In order for a runner to complete their entry, you allow them to register which means they can claim a unique entry code or link (dependent on how the race organisers set this up). Before this code is claimed ('Registration not Started' is the status you'll see) you can self-withdraw a runner:
- Open the '...' menu
- Select 'Withdraw'
- The runner is automatically withdrawn and you will both receive email confirmation.

If you complete this in error, or change your mind, you can also 'Un-withdraw' the runner by selecting this option from the '..' menu.
Please note, withdrawing a runner is not the same as rejecting them. The 'Reject' action is designed to help you say no to any applicants not suitable for your team, allowing them to reapply for a different team should they wish. The 'Withdraw' feature is for someone who sadly has to pull out of the event and needs to therefore be withdrawn from your team.
If your runner has started registration
If the status for your runner is either Registration in Progress or Registration Complete, you'll still select the 'Withdraw' option from the '...' menu but this will trigger an alert to our Charity Support Team who will take action on your behalf. This is because your runner has already claimed a unique entry code or link and therefore has begun the process of registering their place with the event and the process to withdraw them will vary dependent on the event.
Please note, the option to withdraw a runner will automatically close in line with the date at which the event closes for registration. This is because at this point, even if a runner has to drop out, there is no formal action that can be taken to withdraw them with the event organiser as the overall registration process has closed.
Please consult your contract or speak to your dedicated realbuzz Account Manager with regards to the policy for entry rollovers.
