What happens if a runner, running in support of my charity, hasn’t reached the 75% fundraising milestone and the deadline is approaching?

What steps to follow for a runner who is behind target when an event registration deadline is approaching.

Every event on the 'run with realbuzz' programme has a number of important deadlines and every runner has a deadline to achieve the major fundraising milestone: 75% of their overall fundraising target. This milestone is where their place is guaranteed and their unique entry code is deployed to the realbuzz Runner Dashboard for them to complete registration. This milestone has to achieved at least 30 days before registration for the event itself officially closes (giving them time to redeem their code and keep fundraising!)

It is natural that some runners will do better than others at fundraising, and often as a deadline approaches, a % of runners will not yet be at target. The decision as to whether they can run is in your hands, this is called approving a runner - although rest assured our realbuzz Runner Support Team will be in touch and intervening with all runners behind target as a deadline approaches so we are doing the heavy lifting to help them get there.

Some important points about approving runners

  • This approval feature is there so you can approve a runner, ahead of registration closing for their event, if they are not yet at the 75% milestone but you feel they should receive their code anyway so they can run for you. This may be if they are a supporter you are aware of who has fundraised for you before or someone who has been progressing well with their fundraising who you'd like to take through so they can continue to progress.
  • As an event registration deadline approaches, you will receive a notification that you have runners to review if you have runners in the dashboard, wishing to take part in the relevant event, who have not yet reached the 75% fundraising milestone.
  • Once you click this button, you are agreeing to give entry to the runner and therefore the 75% invoice will be invoked.
